I am a woman of a certain age. The French would call me une femme d’une certain age with all the delightful connotations of an older woman who is secure in and enjoying her sexuality, sensuality and the freedom and confidence of that age. The French have always appreciated women like me. Our American youth-oriented society is starting to. It is always nice to be appreciated, but that is just icing on the cake.
I have the best of all worlds.
I am the proper garden club/hospital commitee/charity board lady who lunches with the “girls”. I really am! I love my garden, sit on several charity committees and go to the opera in my little black dress and pearls. Part of it is reality and part is a facade, living my life the way it is “supposed” to be.
I am also a woman who is newly single again after many years and is enjoying exploring a sexuality that has been left on the shelf for too long and taking satisfaction in doing things for my own pleasure. That sexuality has many facets and I am enjoying exploring them all, especially the ones that would turn the heads of my “proper” friends, but I hope not yours. Some of those facets will most certainly be subjects for future blogs.
Enough about me, there will be more, I want to hear about you. Tell me your secrets, your fantasies, your desires, your jokes. Sex, religion and politics, the subjects you aren’t supposed to discuss at the dinner table!
